What we’re doing

Did you know it takes a member of congress, on average, 45 days to respond to even the most basic constituent request? We view this as a fundamental breakdown in the UX of representative democracy and we're building a platform to fix it.

Indigov is a constituent relationship management suite for the modern representative. Our platform reduces average response times from weeks to minutes for 90% of incoming messages. After going through an exhaustive technical and legal review process with the House of Representatives, we recently closed our Series A and are live in hundreds of offices across federal, state, and local governments. We are expanding rapidly and need additional team members to join us in our pursuit to build the future of representative democracy.

Who we are

We are a group of technologists and entrepreneurs passionate about increasing the efficiency of representative democracy for both representatives and those they serve. We have been executives, technicians, and leaders at institutions such as U.S. Congress, Google, Dropbox, USDS, as well as large e-commerce, digital-first media, civic and gov-tech companies.

As a member of the Design team, the Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role embedded day-to-day in Indigov’s Marketing team helping to communicate our vision and values to the world through impeccable design. You’ll work collaboratively with a variety of teams on all manner of market and customer facing content.

What you'll do

  • Work with the Sales and Marketing teams to design a wide variety of digital and print content including one-pagers, landing pages, case studies, videos, social media, blog posts, email marketing, RFPs, and sales collateral.
  • Work collaboratively with the Customer Success team to design assets that support existing clients and the onboarding of new clients.
  • Work collaboratively with the People Operations team to design assets that support sourcing, hiring and onboarding new employees (i.e. job board graphics, business cards, etc, Employee Handbook, etc.)
  • Maintain design consistency across assets.
  • Help develop, and work within, brand guidelines.
  • Manage day-to-day design deliverables and ensure that timelines are met.
  • Make updates to the Indigov website via CMS (i.e. Strapi, WordPress).
  • Create beautiful presentations for prospective clients and investors.

What you'll need

  • A strong design portfolio showing previous work samples. We want to see a diverse portfolio that exhibits excellent application of foundational design principles, a beautiful aesthetic, and your own point of view.
  • A strong communication ability. You’ll need to be able to talk about what you’re designing—its purpose, who it’s for, why it matters, and why you made the design choices you did.
  • Comfort managing competing priorities. You will help drive long-term design projects and respond to more immediate requests from a variety of teams.
  • A highly collaborative nature—we don’t design in a vacuum and toss work over the wall when it’s ready. Be prepared to mix it up daily with your cross-functional teammates.
  • An appreciation for feedback from others. You should want to share your work with your partners on the Marketing team, as well as your Design colleagues, to get critical feedback that will help improve your work.
  • Ability to see the forest and the trees—impeccable attention to detail, as well as the ability to align to a larger strategy.

What makes an ideal candidate

• Passion. Building beautiful products that take complex tasks and make them feel simple and intuitive

• Accountability. In a small team of early employees, it is crucial that we all own the outcome and quality of the work we do. The buck always stops with you!

• Grit. Working with government can be challenging in ways that startups frankly aren’t, but the scale and importance of the problems we are solving more than make up for it. We are looking for folks that share that mentality.

Working at Indigov

• Competitive salary, equity, healthcare, and 401k

• High-degree of autonomy, flexible remote work, and unlimited PTO

• Drive technical direction of the company and help improve the efficacy of the U.S. government

• Equal opportunity employer
