The Role
We are looking for a driven, curious, empathetic Head of Design and User Research. Your charter is to build and lead Digit’s product design, brand design, and user research teams. You will be redesigning the way humans interact with their personal finances in order to help improve their financial lives. This role reports to the Chief Product Officer (CPO), and is based in San Francisco, CA.
What You’ll Do:
- Build an amazing, diverse, design team. You will attract the best designers, mentor and coach them to do the best work of their lives. You will scale the design team as Digit grows.
- Partner closely with the exec team to make Digit a household name that members trust to automate their financial lives.
- Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and growth marketing teams to build product experiences that deliver life changing financial impact for our customers.
Who You Are:
- 3+ years of experience as a design leader, with formal people management responsibilities.
- Proven ability to hire, coach, and grow exceptional designers and researchers.
- Experience participating at a leadership or executive level. Ability to quickly build trust across an organization.
- Exceptional design skills in high level strategic direction down to customer experience.
- Experience participating in and/or leading brand design.
- Ability to communicate (written and verbally) with precision, clarity, and respect.
Bonus Points:
- Experience overseeing and/or leading user research initiatives.
- Experience in a fast-growing consumer technology startup.
- Experience building products within financial services or other complex legal, regulatory, or operational frameworks.
