Lead Product Designer

The UserTesting Product Design team is looking for a Lead Product Designer to help drive our UX vision and execute against it as we continue to innovate and improve our customers’ experience. 


The ideal candidate will be familiar with a broad range of design tools and research methods to best solve and communicate user flows, interaction and design specifications; they will know what tool or method to use, when and why. 


As a senior member of the team, they will actively build cross-functional relationships across the organization, mentor other designers, and continually drive improvements to our team’s processes, capabilities and culture.


As a lead, they will direct and coordinate the work of other designers and balance this with their own hands-on design work across multiple feature areas. To be successful, they are organized, thoughtful, and possess the ability to plan and drive results across multiple releases.


What you'll do:

  • Uncover what our customers are thinking and use those insights to drive elegant solutions to complex interactions and workflows
  • Contribute to product roadmap definition, scoping and planning
  • Lead concept ideation and iteration with sketches, wireframes, and prototypes with teams of product managers, software engineers, writers, researchers and other designers
  • Communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to stakeholders and the teams that will be implementing them
  • Deliver on features and products through their entire lifecycle, including discovery (user research, competitive analysis, opportunity maps), ideation (concept generation & testing, rapid iteration), development (usability testing, design QA, artifact creation), launch, and beyond
  • Contribute as a foundational member of UserTesting’s Product Design Team as we strive to constantly improve (#getbetter) and build a team that attracts and retains the world’s best talent.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 8+ years experience designing product solutions for online applications
  • Advanced experience with an evidence-based approach to product design, familiar with a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Passionate with great intuition
  • Great listener who is collaborative by nature
  • Able to iterate quickly and design within an agile development process
  • Superb eye for details and a strong visual esthetic
  • Ability to prioritize projects, communicate progress, and deliver on time
  • Online portfolio required for application
