Lead UX Researcher
Course Hero is scaling! We aspire to be one of the most customer-centric companies in the world. To help us achieve this ambition, our Research and Design team is looking for an experienced User Researcher to help us understand our customers and their needs even better. You are a hands-on researcher with deep knowledge of how to understand what people need and then drive those insights into the customer experience, including product design. In this role, you will help us understand some of the most important questions we have about our customers, including our students, educators, and tutors.
Here are some ways you’ll make an impact:
- Partner with Product Management, Design and Marketing leadership to define our strategic plans and roadmaps
- Work directly with Product Managers, Designers, Marketers and more to understand our customers and shape how our products & services can best meet their needs and solve their problems
- Help define the problems we need to solve as well as the solutions by which we solve them
- Synthesize customer insights established both inside and outside the research team, including collaboration with the Customer Support team, Educator Partnerships team, on-campus student team, and more
- Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to create thoughtful experiences that meet both user & business needs
Are you our next UX Research Lead?
- Experience conducting user research team in a fast-paced high-growth company
- 3-5+ years of experienced researching user needs for products & services across web, mobile web and mobile apps
- Track record of driving measurable business results and customer value through significant user research; experience delivering insights about end users into the product design and development process, both for the design of brand-new products and for the redesign of existing products
- Deep experience transforming ambiguous business opportunities & challenges into actionable user research questions, findings, and recommendations. Love to use research to help the company identify areas with the highest potential for impact
- Confidence with the full gamut of qualitative research methods, including selecting the most appropriate methods for a given problem or question - especially generative research
- Experience with guiding teams who are iterating on products & services post-launch based on user data and insights
- The ability to communicate neutrally, empathically and comfortably with all types of people
- The ability to create and ask probing, insightful questions that elicit honest, detailed answers
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver concise and meaningful analyses and presentations
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Aptitude with various business software packages and tools
Bonus Points
