ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As Packaging Designer at PAX you will be a key member of the Product Design team. You will work alongside Product Designers to help design the visual and experiential touch-points for packaging of PAX products. Your work will enable consumers to discover and learn about PAX’s range of products, helping them navigate the cannabis space and enabling even more control over their experiences. This role requires a high level of collaboration across the PAX Product team, working with the Packaging team, Product Managers, and Product Designers. 

As the PAX Packaging Designer, you will:

  • Design PAX product packaging - such as consumer devices and PAX Era Pod packaging to specification(s) provided by the Product Management and the Packaging team
  • Conceptualize and prototype new packaging and supporting material designs in order to support the Product Development Process
  • Collaborate with our Packaging team and production vendors to create print/production-ready mechanicals and supporting materials to specifications
  • Iterate on designs ensuring they are high quality and to specification, working with the Product Design team to understand pain-points and opportunities in the packaging experience
  • Collaborate with and respond to the needs of teams such as Compliance and Legal to ensure assets can be integrated and successfully launch on market
  • Travel to attend press checks across North America and Asia as needed

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU

  • Deep experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with localization of print products and multi-language packaging
  • 5+ years of experience with print, ideally packaging design
  • Knowledge, familiarity and keen interest in print/production standards
  • Highly skilled visual/graphic designer with a portfolio of shipped products to demonstrate
  • Skilled at collaboration/communication with various partners throughout the packaging chain
  • Ability to respond to hyper-specific needs/specifications for production assets and mechanicals
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors, such as print shops and production facilities
  • Ideally experienced in designing packaging for consumer packaged goods, consumer electronics, and/or within regulated industries
  • Ideally skilled in industrial design, such as designing physical structures and/or original production-ready packaging
