Job Intro: You will be a designer on our quality measures application. This application allows medical providers to view the quality of their patient care and identify areas of improvement. Your work will help improve patient outcomes and reduce health care costs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be involved in every stage of the product development lifecycle from user research to concept validation to delivering final production ready design to the development team. You will partner closely with the cross-functional team of product managers, engineers and data scientists, to ship high quality products. In addition you will:

  1. Create deliverables such as project briefs, personas, journey maps, task flows and other models  to explore and define the opportunity space for design.
  2. Conduct user interview and usability testing with medical practice personnel. 
  3. Generate multiple design options in the level of fidelity appropriate to the design stage. 
  4. Consider the holistic user experience and design solutions that will hold up to different conditions and states.  
  5. Validate your solutions with low and high fidelity prototypes with feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Clearly communicate your ideas and designs in presentations and discussions and align the team on final solutions. 
  7. Deliver final screens and assets to the engineering team and work closely with the team to ensure quality of final implementation.
  8. Utilize and contribute to our shared product design system 

For your day-to-day work you will be embedded within the provider applications team, a highly cross-functional and collaborative business unit within Verana. You will report to the head of design. 

Basic Requirements:

  • 3+ years of product design experience.
  • Experience designing complex web applications.
  • Ability to conduct usability testing.
  • Expertise in desktop and mobile web design patterns and how to appropriately apply them. 
  • Expertise in using color, style, iconography, typography, information design and visual hierarchy. 
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with an ownership mentality.
  • Growth mindset.
  • Passion for healthcare innovation and patient care.

Bonus Experience (optional) 

  • Health care experience is highly preferred. 
  • Early to mid stage, high growth startup experience.
