Snapdocs is building products that make real estate transactions easier, faster, and more empowering for everyone involved in the closing process. If you’re an experienced product designer who advocates for the user, and practices user-centric design methods to identify problems and solutions, we’d love to meet you!

Snapdocs is an early-stage technology platform tackling the $1.75 trillion U.S. mortgage market, developing modern software for an industry that still relies on fax machines and manila envelopes. We are backed by leading venture firms including Sequoia, F-Prime Capital, Y Combinator, and SV Angel. Our goal is to bring a better home buying experience to one of the most important pillars of the US economy.

As an early product designer, you will be a leader on our design team. You will identify and effectively frame customer problems, and own the design of large projects from opportunity to implementation, making use of customer feedback and product insights along the way. You will develop working relationships with colleagues across the business, and actively look to mentor others and contribute to the wider design community. You will design software that reimagines real estate transactions with beautiful, modern experiences that put people first.

A few top-of-mind design problems we’d likely work together on...

  • How can we work towards a coherent, scalable, and useful design system that creates a consistent user experience across our existing products?
  • Our platform sits at the intersection of many players in the mortgage space and the functionality is growing in complexity. How do we continue to make our products more useful without adding complicated bloat?
  • We are shaking up a notoriously risk-averse, paper-driven industry. How might we intrigue people and draw them away from their existing processes in favor of something new and better?

You’ve run point on highly complex, critical projects. You thrive when you work alongside your product and engineering teammates to define problems to be solved—and you utilize input from customers, the business, and our vision of the future. You’re always thinking about the holistic product, user experience, and potential interactions between different products, features and platforms. You have an aesthetic eye, and you can use layout, typography, and visual hierarchy subtly and effectively—and use those skills to critique and mentor other designers so we can all grow our skills and design a better product for our users.

And perhaps most important of all, you love working at a startup—where you’re an owner, your everyday contributions directly impact customers, and there’s still a whole lot to learn!

Snapdocs’ culture is one that strongly values diversity and drive. We want to work with people of different backgrounds and different paths in life, and we trust our team members to make smart decisions. We value independent work as well as collaboration. Snapdocs provides a range of excellent benefits ranging from the standard stuff: matching 401(k), free lunches, and 21 days PTO to the not so standard—like a 10 year exercise window on your options.

We’ve written a guide that outlines our entire interview process, including the questions we ask and what we’re looking for in the strongest candidates. We want your experience with us to be awesome, so please take a look! How to prepare for an awesome Product Designer interview at Snapdocs.

Reinventing real estate is both a challenging and rewarding design opportunity. If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you! Please include a resume and a link to your portfolio. If applicable, please include the password to your portfolio in your resume.
