We're looking for a Senior UI Designer with a deep knowledge of design systems to join our Hearsay Design Team who will: 

- Play a critical role in owning and maintaining the Hearsay Design System that supports all Hearsay products.

- Work closely with UX designers, engineers and product managers to create polished UI designs.

- Drive and uphold a high standard for visual quality across platforms.

- Evolve the design system to better support Hearsay products and teams.

About the Role:

  • Own and maintain the Hearsay Design System.
  • Actively solicit and incorporate feedback from design/eng partners to evolve and improve the design system.
  • Document components, patterns, layouts, and guidelines to empower other teams to correctly and confidently use the design system.
  • Work closely with design, eng, and PM to design high-quality, modular UI and inclusive patterns to all of Hearsay’s products. 
  • Ensure the design system and its implementation meets accessibility standards.
  • Partner with UX Designers to create polished and visually engaging experiences.
  • Drive and uphold a high standard for visual quality across platforms.
  • Provide feedback in reviews and proactively collaborate with design leads and cross-functional teams across multiple products to ensure design quality, consistency and adherence to guidelines.
  • Partner with marketing design to maintain cohesion and visual alignment between product and brand. 

About You:

  • 5+ years of designing digital experiences across multiple platforms (Desktop, Mobile Web, iOS, Android, etc).
  • A basic understanding of web technologies such as HTML and CSS.
  • Experience creating or maintaining a design system. 
  • Top-notch visual design skills with an eye for details and a deep knowledge of visual design principles.
  • Strong understanding of UX design principles, best practices, and methodologies.
  • A passionate advocate and practitioner of accessible design.
  • A strong communicator who can clearly articulate design decisions, engage in discussion with different partners and stakeholders, ask questions, and be comfortable receiving and providing feedback.
  • An enthusiastic collaborator and team player whose experience includes working with cross-functional stakeholders and team members such as product managers, researchers, engineers, UX writers, and other designers.
  • Proficient with design tools including Sketch, Illustrator, and inVision or other similar tools.
  • Highly effective visual communicator in all types of design artifacts, such as documentation and visual specs.
  • Strong systems thinker, with the ability to identify and implement consistent patterns across a multi-product experience.
  • Able to lead, manage, and deliver multiple projects on time with minimal oversight.
