The SVP, Product Management & Design will lead the global Product Management and Design organization as a key partner in the technology development efforts across all of Fanatics businesses. This is a high-profile role influencing business lines where technology is a key part of the product offering (eCommerce) and where technology supports development of the primary product offering (Wholesale).

 

Competencies/Experience Must Haves

Experience leading product and design - For a user centric (ideally consumer and / or web or mobile delivered product) at significant scale 10M + users with a proven delivery to demonstrate against clear business metrics.

· Ability to clearly articulate/relate product and business KPI’s

· Demonstrated sensitivity to balancing engineering, product features and UX/design in product decisions

· Experience with large or high-volume transactional systems

· Proven ability to manage a portfolio of products and offers

· Manage resource allocation

· Successfully drive strategy, planning and cross business prioritization

 

Executive/Stakeholder Management: Communicating product plans, understanding stakeholder perspectives, driving understanding and alignment across the leadership team.

 

Organizational Alignment – Proven success partnering with other functions (including Engineering) to understand business requirements, objectives, measurable outcomes and pain points; driving Product to find optimized solutions across various functional needs.

· Ability to work across B2C, B2B and Retail divisions; co-create new products and features that helps expand the broader Fanatics business

 

Product Vision – Ability to define, articulate and drive the product strategy closely collaborating with key Engineering and Business leaders. Examples could include:

· New product development to enter new markets (e.g. introducing a B2B product to a B2C company)

· Portfolio optimization such as “end of life” some legacy products or technologies

· Significant strategy pivots/turnarounds (e.g. adapting a monetization model)

 

Strong Business Acumen – Proven financial, and general management skills: including budgetary management. >10M of people expense, significant OpEx and CapEx responsibility. 

 

Proven leadership recruitment and people development of both product management and engineering organizations at scale (> 50 people).

· Significant periods with product management and design leaders as direct reports

· Proven talent magnet (with hiring examples)

· Multiple examples of successful hiring and career progression for team members (such as a team member assuming their prior role when they departed)

 

Communication and Diplomacy – Recognized for polished, clear and concise written and verbal communications. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization from CEO to a line manager. Excel in the ability to partner and reach consensus with stakeholders having competing interests and priorities.

 

Strong Working Relationships – Proven ability to build and maintain strong, mutually self-respecting working relationships with all levels of management, peers and direct reports.

 

Experience Should Haves

Significant experience leading the product function for internet scale platforms (100s of millions of transactions) and hosted / operated environments.

 

Experience bringing applied data science, machine learning to enhance user experience / product value proposition(s) across B2C, B2B and Retail. Understanding of technologies to partner with Engineering in evaluating for future investment and development.

 

Experience with Financial systems to transition from a private equity company to a public company.

 

Experience Nice to Haves

Previous management of globally distributed teams across multiple time zones and locations with an appreciation for varying cultures and work styles.
