Job Description

The role of the Signal and Power Integrity Engineer offers the opportunity to work within the ASIC Design team and to own the core of what will set Butterfly Network apart.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be: 

  • Work with chip teams to model and simulate advanced chip and packaging solutions for Butterfly’s Ultrasound-on-ChipTM technology platform
  • Signal and power integrity signoff for the chip, package, and system PCBs; provide feedback, and recommend routing, power plane, supply noise reduction solutions
  • Other ASIC Engineering duties as assigned

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • BS or MS Electrical Engineering. PhD is a plus.
  • 5+ years hands-on modeling experience in several of the following tools - Clarity / Sigrity, PowerSI / PowerDC, Voltus / VoltusFI, RedHawk, HFSS, Totem, PathFinder
  • Knowledge in silicon (on-chip) and package power delivery network principles and transmission line theories
  • Ability to collaborate and work directly with the tool vendors, and drive them to resolve tools bugs as well as implement required improvements
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python / TCL / SKILL)
  • Knowledge in packaging technologies, such as BGA, Wafer Level Packaging, 2D/2.5D/3D stacked die substrate, is a plus
