The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Sr Manager of Visual Merchandising to design and scale a customer-obsessed end-to-end Afterpay retail experience across stores and shopping centers. As Sr Manager of Visual Merchandising and Retail Environments, you’ll define how Afterpay engages and facilitates connections with both new and loyal Afterpay customers in the store environment. You’ll ensure consistency and quality of experience, while taking into account the different categories, brands, and regions Afterpay serves. The ideal candidate will take their years of best-in-class retail experience and apply an entrepreneurial approach to creating and scaling retail visual operations for Afterpay across 100,000+ storefronts. You will develop and Lead our VM Strategy for North America and EMEA while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure our Retail environment vision flows through to our merchants. You will develop and lead the operations required for how we drive VM in acquisition, onboarding and retention.

-Develop a “North Star” philosophy that guides our decision-making and operationalization of Afterpay creative within stores and centers
-Partner with Creative to create uniquely Afterpay & bar-raising store collateral & experiences that address new customer and revenue growth opportunities head-on
-Align creative concept development with consumer experience objectives and business needs, working cross functionally with internal stakeholders including marketing, creative, sales, and operations in addition to merchant partners
-Own the development and launch of visual merchandising playbooks in order to help consumer engagement, decision making and purchase in store
-Create a best in class knowledge of shoppers in each sector (fashion, beauty, department stores, mass retail, home, etc), to drive a measurable impact on shopper understanding, purchase intent and conversion
-Oversee the design, production, and project management for retail visuals
-Identify and onboard 3rd party vendors as needed to serve scale
-Own process from briefing to delivery
-Drive weekly/monthly/quarterly communications to all stakeholders in various formats
-Lead the review and analysis of all in store and merchandising displays, demonstrating guidelines around sales uplifts, CX impact and ROI
-Support other in-store marketing initiatives, including pop-ups and special events as needed
-Oversee planning and management of multi-million dollar budget, leveraging financial rigor to prioritize and allocate resources effectively

You will have ….
-8+ years experience in visual operations and/or marketing
-Significant experience in retail-centric environments delivering innovative consumer experiences
-Highly collaborative, globally minded with an extremely high level of customer focus and cultural sensitivity
- A big thinker who can look outside the box for solutions but can probe and consider all of the facts and details, while still staying aligned with the long-term plans and goals
-Passion for store design and an ability to clearly communicate design concepts
-Finger on the pulse of the latest technology and design trends, always looking for ways to tell the Afterpay brand story in new and compelling ways
-Proven success in delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment
-High attention to detail including precise and effective communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
-Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a team of at least 3 people
-Significant project management experience on challenging projects
-Exceptional writing skills and experience creating content and papers. Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills, with strong attention to detail.
-Proven capability to manage multiple, disparate projects and/or stakeholder groups
-Self-motivated personality and ability to deal effectively with ambiguity. A proactive self-starter.
-Ability to travel up 20% of the time
