Do you believe that creators should have the ability to get paid for the value they give to their fans?

We do, which is why we're building Patreon, a platform that powers membership services for creators with established followings. Patreon strives to provide creators with insight, education, and tools that make it possible to retain creative control while running their creative business, so creators can focus on making their art, music, podcasts, and more.

Our user base has doubled in the last year alone, and we have paid over $1 billion directly to creators on our platform. In order to support this level of growth, Patreon is looking for a Staff Product Designer.

** Along with your resume, please submit a link/password to your online portfolio **

What you will do:

  • Own the design vision and execution of the end-to-end experience of an entire product area on Patreon.
  • Understand the psychology of creators and develop radical empathy for their creative business routines and challenges
  • Tackle greenfield, complex problems that will meaningfully help creators make more money (including brand new patron magic moments and new benefit types)
  • Lead the vision towards simplifying the product and delighting creators. We strive to respect our creators’ standards and time.
  • Guide teams towards execution excellence through discovery, research, experimentation, feature launches, and longer-term definition
  • Significantly drive the product roadmap
  • Lead and improve our collaborative design process, involving engineers, product managers, researchers, data scientists, marketing managers, and creator-facing teams
  • Manage a small design team (1-2 people) and staff them appropriately to your product area.

Skills and experience you possess:

  • 8+ years of relevant product design experience
  • Proven leadership in driving, communicating, and executing against a vision
  • Some management experience
  • Strong systems design thinking across medium to high complexity problems
  • Visual design excellence and meticulous attention to craft
  • Exceptional and imaginative problem solving in a greenfield domain or problem space
  • Agility in utilizing a variety of design discovery, research, and validation methods
  • Familiarity with the nuances of metrics (business, data science, research) and uncovering the Why behind the numbers
  • Mastery of design tools & outputs: Figma, design systems, responsive design, native mobile
  • Passionate advocacy for users
  • A humble, collaborative, and service-oriented approach to your career
  • Scrappiness & bias towards action: we’re building the future of creative independence and changing the way creative work is made. Let’s move!
  • Bonus points: passion for bringing consumer approaches to SMB platforms

Who you'll work with:
