We are seeking a Technical Learning Experience Designer to  join the Pathstream learning design team. You will lead the design and creation of Pathstream’s online instructional content.

Our programs are built by educators, engineers, designers, and doers who care about democratizing access to best-in-class learning. We accomplish this by partnering with leading software companies such as Facebook, Salesforce, and Tableau to build college curriculum for emerging digital-skill careers. Our programs are delivered to students through our national network of community college, university partners, and technical companies. We provide full-service support to our partners including faculty training, 24/7 customer support, and increasingly valuable career and job placement support.

Whereas most online learning consists of passive video lectures, Pathstream learners gain and build career skills within actual software platforms that are used on the job, ensuring they are ready to perform in a real work environment. Throughout the courses, users build a portfolio which demonstrates their skills, and ultimately earn a certificate from the relevant software platform company, both of which ensure that their efforts translate into career mobility.

We are seeking a Technical Learning Experience Designer who will design and create Pathstream’s online instructional content across a variety of technical subject areas. The primary responsibility of the role is to create engaging and student-centered  curriculum, which will be delivered online through the Pathstream learning platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and author technical online course curriculum in one or more of the following areas: data analytics, business analytics, business intelligence, data science fundamentals, digital marketing, marketing analytics, technical project management, cybersecurity, Salesforce, IT administration, cloud computing.
• Work closely and collaboratively with subject matter experts to define  key learning objectives and project-based assessments for various courses.
• Translate dense, complex subject material into clear, compelling, and well structured curricula (and get paid to learn in the process!).
• Develop engaging, interactive online learning modules, including supporting multi-media, multimodal assessments and interactive activities.
• Evaluate content in relation to learning objectives, internal conventions, and approved style guides.
• Format, edit, and perform quality assurance checks on your own work and the work of others, ensuring consistency of voice and message, precision, and clarity.
• Support and contribute to the overall learning design approach for Pathstream certificates. 

ABOUT YOU

• You’re passionate about career-focused education and/or economic mobility and using technology-based solutions in this space.
• You have at least one year of experience in the design, development, and writing of learning content that was technical in nature, for an online audience of high school or adult learners.
• You are an excellent communicator, especially in writing, and have the ability to express and break down complex topics clearly and easily. You have a strong command of the English language.
• You’re a fast learner: You pick up on new topics quickly and you’re excited and able to develop a functional understanding of new software platforms and translate technical content into layman’s terms with the support of subject matter experts.
• You’re highly detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills - whether it’s content organization or organizing your own workflow.
• You’re collaborative by nature and are energized by cross-functional work.
• You’re interested in working in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment with changing responsibilities.
• You understand that a job goes beyond a job description and are willing to lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed.
