Our internal creative agency, Zephyr is looking for an experienced and highly motivated UX designer who lives and breathes user experience, web innovation and design, drives ideation and creativity while thinking about the strategic big picture. This team is responsible for the expression of the Zscaler brand in every aspect of the human experience. The right candidate should have deep technical knowledge of the web, its limitations and how to strategically translate identity systems to a digital experience. Your work here will include a wide breadth of projects and materials—ranging from .com, landing pages, unique microsites, immersive digital experiences and more. 

Your Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, present and execute forward-thinking creative digital design and web experiences, including Zscaler .com, landing pages, unique micro sites, immersive digital experiences and more. 

• Collaborate with the Design Team, Web, Marketing, Product, Demand Gen to develop a full range of ideas and assets for the website

• Create conceptual, well articulated and user-centered wireframes and design from existing ones

• Understanding website insights and technology trends.

• Coordinating concept testing through the website and iteratively learning, improving and optimizing the digital experience. 

• Partnering with web marketing manager, engineers, and creative team to develop and prioritize experience roadmaps

• Produce design ideas and collaborate with teams to determine which ideas should move forward into detailed design and eventually production, based on usability testing, standard methodologies, and technical input

• Help promote standard methodologies in design, usability, and accessibility within the design and engineering teams and across the company

• Research and showcase knowledge in industry trends and the latest technologies across mobile, desktop, and web

• Demonstrated knowledge of design and UX best practices

• Proven success in user experience design in a complex technology ecosystem.

• Solid understanding of graphic design and web technologies with a knowledge of SEO

• Use meticulous attention to detail as it applies to the application of the Zscaler brand guidelines

• Remain nimble and adapt to ever-evolving project timelines and requirements. Be open to track and optimize based on performance. 

• Collaborate with and present web design concepts to cross-functional teams

• Help build and improve template files and design guidelines that build out our design system

Qualifications

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 6+ years of experience in creative agency, studio or in-house.

• A BFA, BS, or MFA in UX Design or equivalent field is required.

• A strong portfolio of UX design.

• 3+ years' experience in user experience design in a team environment.

• Portfolio showing 3+ years of experience of a wide range of user experience design methods.

• High Proficiency with industry-standard design and web tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch or equivalent).

• A professional knowledge of web and digital standards and limitations.

• A pulse on what is relevant in culture, design and technology and can investigate, innovate, and develop upon digital design trends.

• Design-level familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies; enough to collaborate with front-end developers during handoff and quality assurance.

• A self-starter attitude with an excitement to work in a fast-paced, low-ego environment.

• Ability to make persuasive arguments to influence design decisions with internal and external partners.

• Actively seek feedback and review of work; accept and act upon creative/technical direction.

• Take direction well and be nimble to extend designs across platforms.

• A professional-level design eye to distinguish good design from bad, careless from well-conceived and crafted.

• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and team.

• Ability to collaborate with others–stakeholders, technical teams, partners and design team. 

• Attention-to-detail, strong organizational skills and time management.
