The UX Manager at Sage Intacct is a mission-critical role, where you will lead a team of UX designers throughout the planning and development lifecycle, creating compelling, effective user experiences. In this role, you will collaborate with the Sr. Manager of UX Design, the Sr. Manager of User Research, as well as other product leaders, and engineers to transform complex business scenarios into solutions that delight our customers and partners.

You will be strategic as you partner with product management, setting vision and priorities for how to revolutionize ease for business applications. You will oversee the design process to deliver on core parts of that strategy, pushing the boundaries of ease expectations. You will work directly with the Foundation UI team to influence and leverage patterns supported by the Design Language System, and will collaborate with the Sage Experience Design group to contribute new designs and patterns to continually evolve the Design Language System (DLS.)

The position requires a laser-like customer focus, a data-driven approach, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented, product-focused environment. The ideal candidate will be driven by the challenge of solving unique UX problems in a compressed timeframe while balancing the needs of the business and the constraints of the medium. The role will require someone comfortable with some ambiguity/minimal direction, and can thrive in rapidly-evolving environments.

This position will be located in our beautiful downtown San Jose, CA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 3-7 UX designers creating end-to-end user experiences for existing and new product offerings that simplify the user's workflow.
  • In the beginning, some hands-on design will also be expected as we scale the team.
  • Collaborate with UX and other business leaders to understand roadmap, priorities, and resourcing needs.
  • Help drive a UX vision and roadmap that meet the user and business requirements.
  • Oversee team engagement and performance, including goal setting, ongoing feedback, and performance reviews. Assist in contributing to the Sage Intacct Design System and promoting the adherence to patterns.
  • Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and the specifics of user centered design process.
  • Participate in quarterly planning and design check-ins for the areas you support.
  • Influence and evolve design standards and guidelines to improve the overall user experience quality across web and mobile products.
  • Drive ongoing process improvements as needed to ensure a high-functioning team that produces quality work on schedule.
  • Collaborate with User Research team to apply proven and innovative research techniques to gain insight for solution development.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, or related HCI discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 7+ years experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role, participating in the complete product development lifecycle of several successfully launched web and/or software applications.
  • 2+ years experience leading or managing a team of UX designers on a high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Marvel, etc.
  • Fluency in user-centered design best practices and trends across web and mobile platforms, as well as knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
  • Familiarity with the technical considerations and technologies needed when designing for web and mobile platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; experience working in a collaborative team and proven ability to promote teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Strong bias for action; confidence and ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A compelling online portfolio of sketches, wireframes, prototypes, hi-res comps, etc. that clearly expresses your ability to create successful user-centered design solutions.
  • Ability to provide strong vision, project direction, coordination and communication of design deliverables/dependencies, etc.
  • Experience with financial management and mid-market/enterprise solutions is desirable.
