"The front page of the internet,” Reddit brings over 430 million people together each month through their common interests, inviting them to share, vote, comment, and create across thousands of communities.

We’re looking for our User Researcher to contribute to a diverse, creative, and collaborative group to design and execute research specializing in user behavior and social media creation and consumption.

Your research will focus on collecting and analyzing user data to describe user mindsets, desires, and behaviors. We are looking for candidates with fresh ideas, serious curiosity, passion, and creative drive who

1) have interest and experience in qualitative research methods (e.g., listening to interviews, distilling highlights, transcript analysis) to assist with in-person and remote interviews, usability tests, and other forms of research, and

2) are skilled in various types of writing (e.g., literature reviews, memo writing, report writing, and newsletter writing), as well as copyediting, and

3) can translate and summarize academic work for their colleagues. You’ll work closely with the rest of Reddit’s User Research team, the Design team, and other key partners focused on analytics and insights across Reddit (e.g., data scientists, product managers, engineers, etc.).

As a UX Researcher, you are an important link to our users, as well as an exceptional cross-functional collaborator.

The User Research team is a mixed-methods group focused on understanding user behavior on and off Reddit. The team develops research questions and hypotheses. We then use those statements to design mixed-method, qualitative, and quantitative studies and execute research that highlights user needs and expectations.

These findings will influence Reddit’s product design roadmap on both tactical and strategic levels. Members of the user research team at Reddit come from all backgrounds and are united in the unique goal of providing a place where community can be found at the intersections of pseudonymity and voice, understanding and expression, serious inquiry and playfulness.

Reddit is a community of nearly 430 million active users, with a mission of helping people of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds discover places where they can be their true selves. Reddit is home to thousands of communities, endless conversation, and authentic human connection. Whether you're into breaking news, sports, TV fan theories, or a never-ending stream of the internet's cutest animals, there's a community on Reddit for you. Every day, millions of people around the world post, vote, and comment in communities organized around their interests. Reddit is a growing family of millions of diverse people sharing the things they care about most. Reddit was founded in 2005 by two college friends.

At Reddit, you'll get to:
