Visual Designer

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a top-notch visual designer and illustrator to create marketing content for our website, microsites, landing pages, white papers, print brochures, and trade show collateral
  • Collaborate closely with front-end engineers to ensure your designs are implemented precisely
  • Develop creative concepts for marketing programs to meet business goals and further the brand
  • Partner with all parts of the organization including marketing, sales, recruiting, product, and customer success to maintain a consistent brand experience
  • Maintain and extend the Tray.io style guide and brand guidelines
  • Clearly articulate your design decisions and embrace constructive criticism as part of the design process
  • Pride yourself on unparalleled collaboration skills and look forward to partnering with marketing, product, and other designers to create beautiful designs in an agile environment
  • Contribute not only to the projects you work on, but to your team as a whole, identifying new design-led projects, gaining buy-in and collaborating with other disciplines and departments
  • Spread design thinking and enthusiasm across your teams

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional visual design and web design experience
  • Exceptional portfolio featuring detailed design work, including examples of illustration and iconography
  • Fundamental understanding of the formal elements of design including color, typography, and layout
  • Be detail-oriented, pixel-perfection obsessed, and blessed with good taste
  • Have extraordinary conceptual skills to turn abstract ideas into powerful visuals
  • An absolute pro with the Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with Sketch
  • Familiarity with web technologies and how to design for them (you should know which parts of designs will require HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, but you don’t need to be a coder)
  • Thinking in scalable systems, not one-off solutions
  • Thorough design process for discovering edge cases and removing assumptions
  • Positive attitude and the knowledge that any design problem is interesting if you make it one
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
  • Experience with designing for a content management or marketing automation system (Contenful, automated workflows, etc.)
  • Experience designing for a variety of platforms (web, mobile, print, email, video) and a familiarity with product design

Location

Our HQ is located in the historic SOMA district of San Francisco. SOMA is home to the SF Giants stadium and is about a 10 minute walk to FiDi. But we've got a London HQ and remote hubs all over the map, with Trayers working in San Diego, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta and many more cities in between.
