About the Role:

The Capacity Planning & Efficiency team at Crusoe focuses on performance, capacity planning and optimization at the intersection of all Crusoe products and services, and all physical infrastructure across Compute, Network and Storage. This team partners very closely with the Data Center Design and planning team which focuses on the overall site, space and power capacity planning and optimization. As the Director of Capacity Planning and Efficiency, you will lead a talented team responsible for creating and optimizing global and regional capacity plans at various altitudes to balance service, infrastructure, financial, and business constraints.

This role will be uniquely positioned to optimize these capacity plans and scalably manage exceptions at the most strategic levels with company level impact and support Crusoe’s mission to align the future of computing with the future of the climate.

In this role, you’ll collaborate across several teams in the company, with the opportunity to work with a variety of engineering and business teams to power the rapid growth of Crusoe’s AI Cloud. This role will help to ensure optimal operation of our infrastructure from a cost and technology perspective, across our servers, GPUs and cutting edge AI technology including Managed services, etc. Help build one of the largest fleets, powering the world’s favorite AI-First cloud!

Your contributions will directly shape Crusoe’s ability to effectively plan, optimize and expand its cloud capabilities that align with our commitment to efficiency and sustainability.

A Day In The Life:

  • Own capacity planning for all Crusoe products and services and plans for how to scale infrastructure resources across compute, network and storage most efficiently.

  • Develop and analyze business and technical data and scenarios to drive the highest levels of executive decision making around infrastructure and Crusoe products and services.

  • Define End To End capacity planning processes, methodologies, and data to deliver an executable and optimized Capacity Plan.

  • Proactively identify and build plans and solutions for capacity-related issues and address them.

  • Understand all demand sources and trends to come up with forecasts and analyze forecast changes and trends to develop and manage strategic deployment plans.

  • Partner with product and GTM/Sales teams on the demand signals, upcoming requirements to plan and find the most optimal ways to scale our infrastructure and place our services.

  • Partner across the engineering technical landscape to optimize at the intersection of hardware, infrastructure, and software. Work closely with software service owners, SRE, Server Hardware Systems Engineering, Server Supply Chain, Network Engineering, Data Center Design, Operations, management and Planning teams to find the most optimal ways to scale our infrastructure and place our services.

  • Partner with Finance to balance cost efficiency with technical and product considerations.

  • Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models and make recommendations to drive change and optimization at the most strategic levels.

  • Define improvements to planning efficiency and quality, partner with software engineers to implement them.

  • Drive the requirements and development of capacity dashboards to monitor and proactively manage capacity shifts.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and collaboration abilities to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Data Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of $205,000 - $285,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
