The Role:

Carrot Fertility is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Procurement to build and lead our global procurement function. This role will establish best-in-class sourcing, vendor management, and procurement operations that scale with Carrot’s rapid growth, international expansion, and IPO readiness. The Director will partner cross-functionally—Finance, Legal, Technology, People, and Commercial teams—to ensure vendor spend is aligned with Carrot’s financial goals, compliance requirements, and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Leadership

  • Design and lead Carrot’s global procurement strategy across categories, including technology, clinical providers, professional services, and operations.
  • Establish scalable sourcing, contract management, and spend control processes that balance agility with risk management.
  • Build a small but high-impact procurement team; coach and mentor staff.

Vendor Management & Negotiations

  • Drive competitive sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, vendor selection) and lead negotiations to achieve cost savings, service level improvements, and favorable terms.
  • Implement vendor performance measurement (KPIs, SLAs) and risk management frameworks to monitor quality, compliance, and innovation.
  • Partner with Product and Clinical teams on strategic supplier relationships to support Carrot’s member experience.

Governance, Systems & Controls

  • Collaborate with Finance and Legal to ensure vendor contracts meet compliance, data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Own procurement policies, approval workflows, and internal training to ensure compliance across the company.
  • Lead the selection and implementation of procurement technology/tools to automate requisitions, approvals, and reporting.

Financial Impact & Reporting

  • Deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and efficiency gains across spend categories.
  • Provide quarterly reporting on vendor spend, savings, and procurement KPIs to the CFO and Audit Committee.
  • Support long-range planning, budgeting, and IPO readiness efforts with accurate vendor cost forecasts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, ideally in high-growth SaaS, healthcare, or benefits organizations.
  • Proven success in building procurement functions from the ground up in a scaling environment.
  • Strong contract negotiation expertise (including SaaS, clinical services, and global vendors).
  • Familiarity with data privacy, HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, and global compliance considerations.
  • Experience with the Zip procurement system is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner across Finance, Legal, Product, and Executive teams.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability; thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.

Compensation:

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $175,000.00 - $200,000.00. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
