WHO WE ARE: MagicSchool is the premier generative AI platform for teachers. We're just over 2 years old, and more than 6 million teachers from all over the world have joined our platform. Join a top team at a fast growing company that is working towards real social impact. Make an account and try us out at our website and connect with our passionate community on our Wall of Love.

As the Director of Product Marketing at MagicSchool, you’ll elevate how we tell our story - what we build, why it matters, and how educators and district leaders understand our value. You’ll lead a growing PMM team and be a hands-on strategist who thrives in a fast-moving environment, turning complex product capabilities into clear, compelling narratives that drive adoption, pipeline, and trust.

You’ll own positioning, messaging, competitive insight, and launch discipline across the company, partnering closely with product, sales, marketing, and customer experience to bring clarity to every major initiative. Your work sits at the center of our GTM motion, shaping the story that shows up across our website, sales conversations, campaigns, lifecycle flows, and district-facing materials.

We’re looking for someone who can scale a high-performing PMM function, set a high quality bar, and drive alignment across teams. You’ll balance strategy with execution, coach the team to deliver great work, and ensure our product marketing becomes a durable engine that sharpens our differentiation and improves business outcomes. Success in this role means you’ve created a repeatable GTM system, strengthened our narrative, and built a team known for clarity, insight, and excellence.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Org Development

  • Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing product marketing team

  • Establish clear roles, rituals, operating rhythms, and performance expectations

  • Build the long-term PMM org structure, hiring roadmap, and scalable processes

  • Set the quality bar for messaging, strategic thinking, and GTM execution across the team

Positioning & Messaging

  • Own MagicSchool’s product positioning, audience messaging, and value propositions

  • Create a unified messaging architecture used consistently across Sales, Product, Marketing, and CX

  • Turn complex product capabilities into simple, compelling narratives that shape the category

Launch Strategy & GTM Execution

  • Enhance and enforce a company-wide GTM playbook (roles, timelines, enablement, channels, metrics)

  • Lead the team through end-to-end product launches—from narrative development to measurement

  • Ensure PMM is embedded upstream in product development and roadmap conversations

Competitive & Market Intelligence

  • Build and manage a formal CI function within PMM

  • Synthesize competitive insights into positioning, differentiation, and roadmap influence

  • Equip Sales and Product with timely, accurate intelligence and recommendations

Sales & CX Enablement

  • Collaborate with enablement to create practical, high-quality sales enablement (decks, battlecards, solution briefs)

  • Partner with Sales + Cx leadership to ensure consistent adoption and measurable impact

  • Support CX and customer marketing with customer-facing messaging, value-content, and retention/expansion enablement

Integrated Campaign Collaboration

  • Ensure PMM serves as the “hub” for integrated campaigns across Growth, Content, Brand, and Sales

  • Provide your team with clear narrative direction for all major campaigns

  • Partner with Lifecycle and Growth PM to influence onboarding, activation, and PLG programs

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Establish and lead recurring alignment rituals across Product, Sales, and Marketing

  • Drive clarity, accountability, and decision-making across GTM motions

  • Act as a trusted leader who elevates communication and reduces friction between teams

Qualifications/Competencies/Skills:
  • 7+ years in B2B SaaS product marketing, with 2–4+ years directly managing PMMs

  • Experience building PMM functions, not just inheriting mature ones

  • Demonstrated success creating positioning frameworks, messaging architectures, and persona strategies

  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional launches with measurable impact

  • Experience partnering closely with executive leaders and influencing high-stakes decisions

  • Expert-level positioning, messaging, and narrative development

  • GTM rigor: launch strategy, orchestration, and post-launch measurement

  • Strong competitive intelligence discipline

  • High-quality writing and editing; ability to coach others toward that bar

  • Executive communication and cross-functional influence

  • Ability to build and scale processes, systems, and team operating models

  • Fluency with modern PMM and AI tools

  • High judgment, prioritization skills, and bias for action

Experience:
  • Built or scaled a product marketing team (hiring, coaching, leveling, performance management)

  • Owned positioning and messaging for a complex SaaS product

  • Led multiple multi-channel launches from strategy through adoption

  • Created widely-adopted sales enablement and competitive assets

  • Directly contributed to improved pipeline quality, enterprise win rates, activation, or usage

  • Been the connective tissue between Product, Sales, CX, and Marketing at an early or growth-stage company

  • EdTech, PLG, or dual motion (PLG + enterprise) environments

Why Join Us?

  • Work on cutting-edge AI technology that directly impacts educators and students.

  • Join a mission-driven team passionate about making education more efficient and equitable.

  • Flexibility of working from home, while fostering a unique culture built on relationships, trust, communication, and collaboration with our team - no matter where they live.

  • For full time employees:

  • Unlimited time off to empower our employees to manage their work-life balance. We work hard for our teachers and users, and encourage our employees to rest and take the time they need.

  • Choice of employer-paid health insurance plans so that you can take care of yourself and your family. Dental and vision are also offered at very low premiums.

  • Every employee is offered generous stock options, vested over 4 years.

  • 401k match & monthly wellness stipend.

Our Values:

  • Educators are Magic:  Educators are the most important ingredient in the educational process - they are the magic, not the AI. Trust them, empower them, and put them at the center of leading change in service of students and families.

  • Joy and Magic: Bring joy and magic into every learning experience - push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI.

  • Community:  Foster community that supports one another during a time of rapid technological change. Listen to them and serve their needs.

  • Innovation:  The education system is outdated and in need of innovation and change - AI is an opportunity to bring equity, access, and serve the individual needs of students better than we ever have before.

  • Responsibility: Put responsibility and safety at the forefront of the technological change that AI is bringing to education.

  • Diversity: Diversity of thought, perspectives, and backgrounds helps us serve the wide audience of educators and students around the world.

  • Excellence:  Educators and students deserve the best - and we strive for the highest quality in everything we do.
