#WeAreCrowdStrike and our mission is to stop breaches. As a global leader in cybersecurity, our team changed the game. Since our inception, our market leading cloud-native platform has offered unparalleled protection against the most sophisticated cyberattacks. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing over 1 trillion events a day with a petabyte of RAM deployed in our Cassandra clusters - and this traffic is growing daily. We're looking for people with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to developing and shaping our cybersecurity platform. Consistently recognized as a top workplace, CrowdStrike is committed to cultivating an inclusive, remote-first culture that offers people the autonomy and flexibility to balance the needs of work and life while taking their career to the next level. Interested in working for a company that sets the standard and leads with integrity? Join us on a mission that matters - one team, one fight.
About the Role:
We are CrowdStrike, a fast-growing security company that protects our wide range of customers from cybersecurity attacks. We're investing in program manager leaders who are energetic, eager to learn, flexible and capable of managing large scale/complex engineering projects in a fast-paced environment while holding teams and leaders accountable at all levels.
As a Director of Program Management in Engineering, you'll be responsible for supporting three key Product Groups: Cloud Security, Identity Protection, and Data Security. You'll be responsible for directly and fully supporting and engaging in the work, projects and overall support of processes and PgM resources in these areas:

  • Cloud Security which enables the security and resiliency of cloud environments and applications, working to extend CrowdStrike's mission of "stopping breaches" into the public cloud and cloud native workloads, helping customers understand how adversaries may exploit these resources to advance their modes of interest.
  • Identity Protection whose mission is to protect workforce identities, allowing us to view the full authentication footprint and attack surface associated with it, and ensure proper controls are in place.
  • Data Security whose mission is to use Zero Trust principles to seamlessly secure critical business data from Insider Threats and External Attackers, and enable authorized employees to securely collaborate with partners, suppliers and customers.

Your primary focus will be two-fold. You will be driving the strategic planning (cadence and consistency) of the roadmap in these areas, enabling effective leadership execution. Strategic planning will include the roadmap schedule, from long term planning (more than a year) to quarterly and project level execution; working with dev management task assignments, and managing schedule progress; from large phases through to detailed tasks, including understanding and managing dependencies within and across Product Groups. This will require working directly with Engineering Senior Leadership, Developers, Product Managers, and Dev Managers to ensure timely delivery and tactical execution against the roadmap. You will work closely across functional teams, and across geo-locations in Europe, the United Kingdom, Israel, and the United States to collaborate and ensure dependencies are well known, critical issues are identified and driven to resolution.
In addition, you will be responsible for the people management of a growing team of Program Managers (11), including other people managers, in Israel, the United Kingdom, and the United States. You'll work in lock step with the PgM Senior Leadership team to bring consistency, clarity and successful outcomes that align to the processes and tooling that embody our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), implementing best practices in your area of responsibility.
What You'll Do:
Responsibilities for Program Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Senior Leadership in your areas of responsibility, owning proactive communications and consistent progress updates.
  • Partnering and direct facilitation with teams at all levels; from in the weeds with developers on projects to summations and process strategy at the executive level.

  • Expert ability to coordinate and optimize the efforts of cross-functional teams, including across conflicting product revenue streams; identifying risks and proactively mitigating them.
  • Providing problem-solving leadership with an expert ability to navigate dynamic and conflicting opinions; holding leadership teams accountable for timely decisions and follow through; escalating when needed.
  • Collaborating with staff and management of multiple worldwide business units (including subject matter experts, product management, design teams, and technology teams) to clearly identify, explain, and communicate their project involvement, project goals, expectations, and tasks.

  • Ability to engage in a participative style of management, providing guidance to direct reports on expectations, implementation best practices and next steps, while allowing them space to determine a course of action and execute.
  • Promotes employee empowerment by actively involving the team members in the direction of the program management team, product groups, and the business as a whole.
  • Demonstrates expert judgment; understanding work expected at your level vs work that can be delegated or shared (does not lead via delegation).

  • Models ideal behavior and best practices for your direct reports by being an individual contributor as well as a people manager.
  • Understands where practices and policies must be aligned with the group vs where there is flexibility for outliers, and ensures adherence and can provide expert level guidance so teams can operationalize flexibility.

  • Understands remote environment work challenges and excels.
  • Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment.
  • Excellent ability to extrapolate context from complex technical conversations, and provide teams with valuable summations around action items and next steps.

Requested in Lieu of a Cover Letter:
In order to highlight what would make you a valuable asset to the CrowdStrike Program Management team, we'd like to know what a day in your "project management" life looks like. More specifically, please tell us about a single project in particular which required your leadership and fortitude to turn the tides of potential disaster. Using an intro paragraph to provide a brief summary of the problem the project was looking to solve and no more than 10 bullet points of "Actions Taken" by you specifically that led to the project's successful outcome.
