The Opportunity
Culture Biosciences is looking for a Director, Supply Chain and Logistics. Your focus will be overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, and transportation. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong operational leadership and a deep understanding of supply chain systems, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do:
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop Quality systems for the supply chain function in conjunction with the Quality Director e.g vendor management and SQMS. 
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and logistics functions.
  • Partner with senior leadership to forecast demand, capacity, and supply constraints.
  • Close gaps in systems to meet business needs 
  • Oversee strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and vendor performance.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with quality, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
  • Develop contingency and risk mitigation plans for critical materials and suppliers.
    Develop internal logistical processes and manage shipping partners and systems. Material planning to meet customer demand while minimizing working capital usage. 
  • Oversee warehouse operations, material handling, space utilization, and logistics
  • Drive the automation and implementation of ERP, WMS, and analytics tools.Generate and present supply chain performance dashboards and KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Lead, build, mentor, and develop the supply chain team.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, finance, and commercial teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer focus.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Life Sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical supply chain management or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM/CSCP) preferred
  • You have 10+ years working in Supply Chain with:
  • Deep knowledge of supply chain planning systems, ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and WMS/TMS systems.
  • Experience in regulated industries ( eg ISO9001)
  • Proven expertise in end-to-end supply chain management, including demand planning, procurement, production scheduling, inventory control, warehousing, distribution, and transportation.
  • Developing and managing strategic supplier relationships and contracts, including performance metrics and risk mitigation plans.
  • Strong background in cost management and financial reporting for supply chain and logistics functions.
  • Experience working with and building external partnerships 
  • Experience implementing new systems and processes that span different departments

Location & Schedule:

  • This role will be a full-time position based at our South San Francisco location.

Base Salary Range:

  • Culture Biosciences's compensation package includes market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, and great benefits. If you are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, our expected cash compensation for this role is $189,000 - $220,000. We are hiring for multiple levels and backgrounds so final offers may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, and other factors
