Simplistic is looking for a Creative Lead Designer to elevate our email and digital design practice and shape the creative direction across a portfolio of fast-growing DTC brands. In this role, you’ll combine hands-on design with team leadership—guiding a group of talented designers, maintaining quality standards across all accounts, and producing high-impact, conversion-focused campaigns.

You’ll collaborate closely with strategists, copywriters, and account managers to bring brands to life through visually engaging, performance-driven email designs. From lifecycle flows to promotional and transactional campaigns, your work will help drive customer engagement and measurable results.

As a CREATIVE LEAD DESIGNER, this role could include:

  • Design best-in-class marketing emails in Figma, adhering to brand and UX best practices for email.
  • Review and approve design work from other team members before client delivery, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and performance goals.
  • Mentor and coach a small team of designers to improve output and grow their skills.
  • Create scalable, reusable email templates using Figma’s auto-layout and component systems.
  • Export designs and implement in Klaviyo or similar ESPs with attention to responsive layout and speed.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams, owning feedback and implementation.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and proactively improve design systems and workflows.

Required Competencies

  • 3+ years of email design experience, preferably in an agency or high-growth ecommerce environment.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong DTC/ecommerce creative work and understanding of what drives performance.
  • Experience managing or mentoring designers and providing constructive, actionable feedback.
  • Strong eye for visual hierarchy, CTA placement, and customer journey design.
  • Expert knowledge of Figma, including components and systems.
  • Familiarity with Klaviyo or similar email service providers for email implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote team across time zones.
  • Experience with Photoshop for basic photo editing is a plus.

Necessary Software Familiarities 

  • Proficiency in Figma for creating email designs and templates.
  • Experience with Klaviyo or similar email marketing software for design implementation.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop for photo editing tasks.
