This position is part of the IT team at Zoox and belongs to the IT Applications sub-team. An IT Application Engineer is an application and IT system expert serving as a mentor and escalation points for many other members of the team. The Zoox application portfolio ranges from vehicle development and design applications to deep learning tools. In this role, the employee will be surrounded with exceptional peers and will be exposed to challenging tasks with opportunities to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Escalation point for Application Administrators and Client Services team members.
- Design system requirements for new and existing applications.
- Create and implement company-wide tools and methodologies.
- Oversee, and often perform, major application installations and upgrades.
- Design, create, and maintain processes, integrations, applications and scripts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, information systems, computer science, technology related field or equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of Windows or Linux/UNIX operating systems.
- Managing applications and their related systems.
- Well-versed in scripting and/or development languages (Python, C#, Powershell, Bash, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of relational and Object/NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of TCP/IP Networking.
- 5+ years of related experience.
