Recurly has an opening for the Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for building and maintaining the Cloud infrastructure on which all of Recurly's IT systems and services are built. This position will report into the Cloud Engineering Team and work alongside Security, Engineering, Customer Success, QA, and the Solutions Team to improve the developer experience and engineering velocity.

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and maintain development and production infrastructure hosted in GCP and AWS
• Drive monitoring across environments and ensure reliability across an increasingly complex system
• Develop new systems and tools to improve the developer experience and engineering velocity
• Automate, and perform software deployments for internally and externally developed software
• Work closely with technical teams to understand business needs, develop technical roadmaps, and implement solutions
• Thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and communicate on a technical level to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• 2+ years of related experience in a cloud environment (GCP preferred)
• Experience with IAC and configuration management technologies to build, deploy and integrate both infrastructure and applications (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Helm)
• Experience with container strategies and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Experience in networking and Linux system administration fundamentals (mail, logging, network configuration);
• Experience troubleshooting networking, compute and storage system to determine performance bottlenecks
• Experience with distributed source code repositories (e.g., Git)
• Experience writing scripts using bash, python and/or ruby
• Experience configuring and using monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus+AlertManager, Grafana, GCP Stackdriver, OpsGenie)
• Experience with issue/problem tracking systems (e.g., Jira)
• Excellent communication skills

Bonus Points

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience with continuous integration environments (e.g., Codefresh, ArgoCD)
• Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies
