We're looking for software and hardware engineers interested in working on the systems that underpin modern robotics: high performance sensors, localization, mapping, object detection, tracking and classification. Our team is composed of engineers that wear many hats and enjoy building robots that cope with the messiness of the real world. We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to help various Ouster teams deliver customer-facing web products via GCP. This cloud engineer will design, develop and test robust services to support various features in the Ouster ecosystem. The right candidate will have enthusiasm for taking ownership, a strong commitment to quality, and the ability to work and communicate effectively with development and other teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect reliable services and the corresponding orchestration
  • Develop & Improve Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting
  • Lead by example with best practices in architecture and system design
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members across diverse disciplines
  • Senior Cloud Engineers are expected to mentor junior team members
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Experience & Skills:

  • BS or MS in computer science or equivalent education
  • 2+ years of experience with a major cloud provider (GCP / AWS / Azure)
  • Experience with microservices ( Rest API’s / Flask )
  • Expertise with Cloud Monitoring
  • 2+ years experience with Python development
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Skills:

  • Continuous integration using Jenkins
  • Containerization using Docker
  • ELK or Stackdriver
  • Expertise with the following technologies (GCP equivalents preferred):
    • Container orchestration
    • Managed SQL
    • Cloud Storage
    • Key Management Service
    • Cloud Identity & Access Management
  • NoSQL database expertise
  • Experience with infrastructure automation
