About the Role

We're seeking a hands-on and motivated Cloud Security Engineer to help protect and safeguard our assets and systems. As a company working with healthcare data, security is a top priority; we architect our systems with security and privacy in mind, and you will be a key enabler of that.

In this role, you’ll have an opportunity to improve the security posture of the company, lead the implementation of critical security systems, and help scale the security team while ensuring our teams sustain high velocity. We believe security should Shift Left and that it shouldn’t be bolted on at the end. We believe in partnering with our teams from the beginning. 

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver projects that will improve our security posture
• Responsible for the real-time mitigation and analysis of threats on Komodo Health applications and infrastructure
• Configure and maintain current iterations of monitoring and alerting tools and participate in the development process to improve their performance and effectiveness
• Develop technical solutions and tools to help automate repeatable security and compliance tasks
• Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring incidents, new standard operating procedures/runbooks, knowledge transfer material, etc.
• Recommend and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
• Partner with our Data Science, Data Engineering, Trust & Safety, and other teams cross-functionally within the company

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or related field or relevant experience
• Web, system and network security (Best practices and tools)
• Web related technologies (web applications, web servers) and network/web protocols
• In-depth understanding of latest security principles and protocols
• Proficient in querying and scripting to perform data analysis of large and complex data sets (SQL, Python, ElasticSearch)
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts and configuration
• Knowledge of best practice security and compliance practices in the cloud (AWS)
• 5+ years of experience

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with HIPAA and healthcare data
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or big data infrastructure
• Experience with pentesting tools
• Experience with DAST and SAST software
• Experience with WAFs and firewalls
• Experience with IDP/IPS
• Experience with SIEM, NGAV, and EDR
• CISSP, CISM, CISA or similar professional certification
