Overview:

Business Growth is the lifeblood of any startup and as the Director, Engineering - Growth organization you will be leading the engineering team that is directly responsible for it. We are looking for a leader with a strong background in running engineering teams focused on growth efforts across both paid marketing as well as organic growth strategies. This team is responsible for finding scalable ways to improve all aspects of the growth funnel (acquisition, monetization, and retention). You will also stand up a new team dedicated towards the Marketing Technology arm of the organization, that is focused on building underlying tools - technologies that power various growth initiatives. You will work hand in hand with Product, Data, Design, and Marketing teams to develop strategic roadmaps. You will build a diverse team of engineers and engineering managers, and be accountable for technical delivery of the initiatives. You will thrive in this role if you are someone with solid technical skills, coupled with strong leadership and planning abilities.

What You Will Do:

• Build and grow a diverse, globally-distributed team of full-stack engineers and engineering managers with strong culture

• Work closely with executives, product, data, and marketing teams to define the strategic vision and roadmaps for the Growth organization
• Setup the required processes to achieve excellence in execution and delivery of the projects at high technical quality levels
• Make sound first-principle decisions around team hiring (both IC and managers) and team composition, and evolve the team structure according to business need
• Provide feedback, career guidance, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members; Instill a strong sense of ownership and impact
• Dive deep into technical architecture, system design review discussions with the leads on the team, and be a thought partner for the team to influence the technology roadmap decisions
• Drive engineering vision and innovation through new technologies and best practices for both Marketing Tech and Web Tech
• Work closely with other engineering leaders on strategic planning to continually improve the engineering organization

About You:

• 5+ years in technology leadership roles with proven track record in building  high performing teams and growing engineers as well as engineering managers
• Good grasp on growth strategies and analytical skills. Passionate about experimentation and moving metrics based on data-backed decisions
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally
• Thrives in ambiguous environments and gets excited about figuring out solutions to complex problems, and executing  on them
• Experience shipping high-quality, user-facing systems while balancing business needs and urgency with pragmatic solutions
• Passionate about following industry trends, new technologies, and looking for opportunities to uplevel the existing solutions to better solve problems
• Code does not scare you
