The technical effort involved is massive. Our data ingestion platform processes tens of millions of transactions across millions of accounts every day and our pricing and reference data systems provide analytics coverage for nearly two trillion dollars in assets. We build and run our own distributed financial computation framework that allows clients to run complex analysis of massive data sets in real time. We design robust APIs and powerful, versatile user interfaces to empower wealth managers to ask nuanced questions about their clients' holdings.

Expectations:

• Think of APIs and integrations as products, not just in terms of the quality of solutions that we deliver, but also in terms understanding how each decision affects the growth of our business.
• Partner with the Head of Partnerships to define and execute Addepar’s integrations strategy.
• Work with other teams across Engineering to ensure the API platform scales to meet the data and usage demands, while also providing protection to our underlying systems.
• Optimize for the Developer persona, as third-party integrations with Addepar are built by Developers at Partner organizations.
• Focus on developer experience, providing clear documentation, a seamless onboarding experience, and access to tooling.
• Innovate our API capabilities without disrupting existing consumers.
• Manage the API development lifecycle from definition to delivery, ensuring that we deliver concise, consistent, and intuitive interfaces.
• Partner with the SRE team and Services organization to proactively monitor and service the needs of consumers.
• Collaborate with the Infosec team to ensure that Addepar APIs protect sensitive data and follow industry standard authentication and authorization design patterns.
• Lead a team of Engineers to execute on the API & Integrations roadmap.

Our engineering team primarily works in Java, but we don’t require prior experience with any specific tool set. Great software engineers can pick up new languages on the job. More than checking the boxes on specific technologies, we're looking for driven engineers with real technical depth and a desire to deliver end products that deliver joy to users. Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study (or equivalent practical experience)
• 8+ years experience developing software and leading software development teams
• 3+ years experience specifically in API platform development
• Proven experience delivering comprehensive API solutions to meet the needs of developers and integration partners
• Expertise in architecting highly performant, large scale cloud-first secure solutions; experience with AWS, Azure, or comparable cloud platforms required
• Ability to lead both small and large teams and excel in a nimble fast paced environment
• Proven track record in building high performance teams and growing key talent within the team
• Well-organized and self-directed individual with the highest ethical standards
• Possess collaborative decision-making abilities to forge successful partnerships across organizational boundaries and levels
• Knowledge and experience of Investment Management or Wealth Management industry preferred
