The mission for the Director of Engineering Operations & Program Management is to accelerate and maintain the highest level of execution excellence of the Fivetran engineering team. This position is instrumental in achieving our vision of “Fivetran Engineering OS 2.0” which is to implement a high-performance framework and foundation of people, teams, processes, and technologies. The optimal candidate will be working in close collaboration with the engineering leadership team to co-own the achievement of this vision.

As the Director of Engineering Operations & Program Management, you will:

• Manage key engineering programs and initiatives
• Own the engineering lifecycle process and improve it in collaboration with engineering leaders and product management leaders
• Define and track engineering KPIs; Manage the engineering analytics function to provide department insights
• Own and run strategic and annual planning process; Prepare quarterly business reviews
• Track and report progress against the product roadmap
• Track and report engineering recruiting efforts
• Work with executive assistant on various communication activities; Coordinate the preparation and delivery of company-wide engineering updates

Requirements:

• Experience establishing a successful program management practice at a high-growth, fast-paced technology company
• Ability to ideate with engineering leadership team on new and innovative management systems while balancing the execution of existing ones
• Ability to communicate concisely, clearly, and with confidence with executives
• High level of independence with a passion for the optimization and improvement of engineering organizational practices
• Excellent ability to motivate other leaders to complete their assignments without being the Chief Chasing Officer
• Capable of managing a distributed team of program managers and analysts; Understands the demands from availability and coordination standpoints

Desired:

• Experience overseeing a cloud infrastructure-related project
• Experience managing an analytics function for engineering performance insights
