As a member of the RingCentral Engineering team, you’ll solve complex, business-critical problems with elegant, user-friendly solutions that perform at massive scale. We are looking for a highly technical and experienced Director of Engineering to join our tight-knit Telco Team. This is a hands-on position that requires detailed understanding of system and software architecture. You must have a talent for solving complex problems, lead team of bright engineers and deliver innovative solutions; while being equally talented at understanding and supporting a complex business-critical SaaS system in production. You must love creating elegant technical solutions that can satisfy the functional, performance, scale and availability expectations of the RingCentral platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage RingCentral’s offshore teams of Software and QA Engineers.
- Plan and deliver new products in Agile environment.
- Take technical ownership of RC VoIP telephony services together with traditional PBX features and Contact Center with heavy focus on new countries and SIP desk phones.
- Help define the strategy and organize testing of new and existing functionality using your strong background in server technologies and VoIP Telephony.
- Lead the initiative in test automation utilizing Python and RC proprietary test framework.
- Help developers to modernize software architecture and help to bring it to the public cloud.
- Be able to see big picture, participate in innovative strategies design with other team members.
- Coach and mentor more junior team members.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BA in Computer Science or related technical field
- 7+ years of QA or Development
- 3+ years in Director or Senior Manager role
- VoIP Telephony (SIP, RTP/RTCP, etc) expert level
- Mid to expert level in Python scripting
- Mid to expert level in C++
- Advanced Linux user
- Good understanding of Networking and TCP/UDP protocols troubleshooting
- Good understanding of Cloud technologies
- Good understanding of Agile
- Experience working with remote teams is a plus
- Fluency in Russian is a plus
