About the Team

The Sift Sales Engineering team comprises creative, technical problem-solvers who partner with prospects to understand their Digital Trust challenges. Our team is distributed across the San Francisco Bay Area, Singapore, and Dublin, Ireland. Engaging the customer throughout their journey, we act as the bridge between technology and business impact. We architect solutions, run evaluations, and onboard customers to the Sift platform while driving tangible value to online businesses for major industries across the globe. Internally, we pave the way for future customers by working closely with Product Managers to stay ahead of the market, identify emerging digital fraud trends, and assist in prioritizing and development of product functionality. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Become an expert in Sift’s products and the competitive fraud landscape, including key technical differentiators from other solutions.
  • Recruit, scale, and coach an awesome global team of Sales Engineers and Sales Engineering Managers across business segments (SMB, Mid-Market, Enterprise and Partnerships)
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to qualify, prioritize and strategize on Pre-Sales opportunities and streamline go-to-market motions 
  • Manage and iterate on Sift evaluation and Proof of Concept strategy
  • Deliver presentations and technical briefings to C-level prospects 
  • Understand Sift company strategy and help set Technical Services, Product & Engineering priorities based on customer & prospect needs
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to optimize Sift’s short-term resourcing to serve key deals and escalations 
  • Implement efficient processes and tools to resolve operational challenges and increase efficiency across Sales Engineering and Sift’s customer-facing teams 
  • Partner closely with Post-Sales leaders to ensure alignment between Pre- and Post-Sales activities

What Would Make You A Strong Fit:

  • 5+ years of managing, building and scaling Sales Engineering teams across different segments, ideally including experience managing across different geographies
  • 7+ years in a B2B, API-based, SaaS technical Sales Engineering role
  • Proven track record of mentoring others both interpersonally and via growth and development initiatives
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a passion for solving problems with scalable processes
  • Exposure to payments or fraud and eCommerce preferred 
  • Experience and familiarity with AI/ML platforms and technologies preferred
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, or similar languages, and UNIX-based operating systems preferred
  • Able to travel up to 30% (in a post-COVID world, whenever that may be)
