About the Role

Our hardware team is growing and we are looking for a leader to guide a team of electrical engineers to develop products that will enable our autonomous delivery service.

About the Work

  • Manage Electrical design efforts, working with TPMs and vehicle/module engineers to make sure they are appropriately staffed and prioritized

  • Work with the team to develop and implement a HW development and validation process

  • Identify and help develop EDA and testing infrastructure

  • Develop PCBA and Module design processes, and work with project managers to drive this for module and PCBA programs

  • Drive part quality improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency improvements

  • Communicate technical decisions, development plans, and ongoing issues to management

  • Define and drive hardware test, integration, and validation plans

  • Help decide what to do in-house and what to outsource, communicate design requirements with external vendors and help drive the progress

  • Work cross-functionally between software and hardware teams

About You

  • 7+ years of developing PCB and electronic module designs and bringing them to production

  • Ability and desire to drive decisions by building consensus with a wide range of stakeholders with the ultimate goal of delivering the right product solution to achieve Nuro’s vision using a logical, data driven approach

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to ensure full coverage and timely program progress given aggressive internal goals around vehicle delivery timing

  • Proven ability to lead, manage, grow, and foster the development of high performing engineering teams

  • Effective communicator able to ensure alignment across company and partners with regards to vehicle program high level goals, detailed inputs and outputs, and development expectations (timing, maturity, etc.).

  • Excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment; advancing projects from concept/development phase through launch and mass production

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of Verilog, C/C++, or Python for automated testing is a plus
