Electro-Mechanical Component Engineer

We are seeking an EM (Electro-Mechanical) Component Engineer who will work with our EM Commodity Vendors, JDM Partners, and Meraki Engineers to identify, qualify, and manage EM components with the goal of maintaining Meraki’s quality and supply goals across our diverse product families.
You Will:
- Support Design Engineering and JDM partners in identifying and qualifying EM components in NPI.
- Initiate and lead efforts to identify and qualify second sources for material availability, cost reduction, and reliability improvement purposes.
- Review and approve component data sheets, qualify test plans, and test results.
- Identify critical and high-risk components in products. Review and approve reliability tests for these components.
- Conduct regular audits for key component suppliers.
- Communicate with EM component vendors about component failures, and driving failure analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage ECOs, MCOs, PCNs through Agile PLM.
- 20%+ international travel; mainly to China and Taiwan.
You Have:
- 5 years experience in an Electro-Mechanical focused role.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of:
- PSU requirements and technologies.
- POE circuits and experience specifying onboard DC to DC converters.
- Requirements for both New Product Introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing.
- Familiar with:
- EM commodities such as interconnect, transformer, PCB, and antenna.
- High-speed serial interface and can support SFP modules.
- Experience with Agile or a similar PLM environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Mandarin a plus.
- Excellent Project Management data collection skills.
- An ability and desire to work in a face-paced, highly cross-functional environment.
- A passion for the details and continuous improvement.
- BS/MS or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
