THE ROLE

Grove’s Operations Technology team is responsible for the platform that fulfills every Grove customer orders, and enables our team to provide outstanding service to all of our members. As we continue to experience expansion, we are building our next-generation D2C platform to support our primary business.

We’re looking for a cross-functional engineering executive who can scale the team and lead our work to migrate to the new platform in early 2021. The platform will support our national network of warehouses and associates, and enable them to completely manage our warehouse labor force, inventory, fulfill orders, move inventory between locations, and handle all of our reverse logistics.

You’ll be responsible for direct oversight and product development of the entire platform, and will help scale the existing team of 6 engineers responsible for the design, development, team development (including hiring), and product management. You’ll work with our COO and VP of Operations Technology on your product roadmap, as well as with our finance, website operations, and analytics teams.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to stretch into a larger organization-wide development role, and who is interested in owning both the product and engineering work across a large platform. Build on their existing team and engineering leadership experience who is interested in learning how to build organizations from the ground up.

Your Impact:

  • You’ll be working to help architect a brand new system, and will work with teams across our technology organization to define where and how a new system should integrate into our existing environment.
  • You’ll work closely with our executive team and industrial engineers to design software to help scale our D2C fulfillment operations.
  • You’ll help us determine where and how to apply state-of-the-art optimization and machine learning tools into our stack to help improve associate productivity. This will include both modeling and simulation work that integrates into our product prototypes.
  • You will have a chance to develop both desktop and mobile applications, as our warehouse teams work on-the-go as well as workstations.

About You:

  • You’ve worked on highly technical products, either as a product manager or an engineer, for the last 5-10 years, and are comfortable with both technical and business requirements.
  • You’ve led teams for at least 2 years, and have experience hiring, managing performance, budgeting, and developing roadmaps for a growing organization.
  • You’re comfortable with data, and can help lead product development of analytical products.
  • You’re skilled at instrumentation, monitoring, and diagnostics of production systems, and know how to design new systems to be easily supportable and serviceable by users and technicians who are not on your team.
  • You’re open to travel to work with our warehouse teams in our locations across the US (currently MO, PA, and NV.)
  • You get bonus points for previous experience in commerce, customer service, CRM, catalog, or warehouse technologies.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive healthcare plans
  • Unlimited PTO and paid family leave
