The Core Client team is responsible for core iOS, Android, and Web infrastructure and performance, as well as the implementation of client platform components central to the functionality of the app and site.

Some of the team’s recent projects include: 

  • Improving the stability of mobile application launch
  • Reducing the time-to-interactive for each platform
  • iPad compatibility
  • Achieving WCAG-compliant accessibility standards across all platforms

The Role:

You will lead a team of full-stack engineers, working on features and systems that support the efforts of other product engineering teams while ensuring the code quality and performance of the core Web platform. The engineering manager partners with a product manager to set the overall strategy and roadmap for the team and coaches teammates to execute plans successfully. The work is a mixture of consumer-facing product and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an engineering team through personal coaching, mentorship, and management.
  • Provide technical guidance on the architectural and product level.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of shipped software.
  • Ensure project health and progress using project management tools such as JIRA.
  • Play an active role in recruiting for not only your team, but the entire engineering organization.
  • Facilitate collaboration across engineering teams.
  • Communicate plans and status with the leadership team.

 Requirements:

  • BS in relevant technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience, working on the development of consumer web/mobile applications.
  • 2+ years of hands-on technical management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of at least 1 frontend Web framework, e.g. React.
  • Working knowledge of at least 1 server application framework, E.g. Django.
