Hardware Board Design Engineer II

As a Hardware Board Design Engineer, you will work with your fellow members of the platform team, cross-functional teams, and vendors to deliver high quality board designs with a timely, successful release to production.
Minimum qualifications
- Experience with high-speed board/system design, logic design, schematic capture, component selection, board layout, and testing
- Strong knowledge related to signal integrity, power design, thermal management
- Experience with design of dense, high layer count PCBs
- Expertise with schematic capture & layout tools
- Experience importing new parts in EDA databases (footprints and symbols)
- Experience in using lab/debug tools (e.g. logic analyzer, PCIe &/or I2C Analyzer, High-speed oscilloscopes, Traffic Generators, etc)
- BS with 5+ years experience or equivalent
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with BOM management and Arena PLM
- Technical knowledge and design/working experience with PCIe, DDR3/4 DRAM, Ethernet, serdes, I2C/SPI/MDIO
- Experience with CPLD/FPGA design and deployment
- Lab bring-up, testing, and debugging (including board-related bring-up with software, familiarity with signal-integrity aspects, etc)
- Working knowledge/experience with scripting (Python, PERL, TCL, etc)
- EMI, materials, and safety compliance requirements/testing
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work/interact within a project team (hardware, software, asic, etc) to design boards and write system documentation
- Work with vendors and the project team to accomplish component selection
- Create and/or validate footprints and schematic symbols
- Schematic capture using ORCAD and board layout using Allegro tools
- Develop/document board/system hardware test plan working with team members
- Contribute to board/system bring-up and system integration efforts
- Develop test scripts as required in the project to help with testing.
