Ike’s mission is to make trucks safer, truckers more valuable, and trucking more efficient. We are bringing together the world’s leading experts in transportation and robotics to transform the way the world moves and build a real commercial product at scale.

About your team

The Hardware Engineering team is responsible for developing the mechanical, electrical, and software components that integrate self-driving technology (sensors, computers, actuators) onto trucks. We ensure that the self driving hardware added to the trucks is safe, reliable, and provides the functionality needed for autonomous operation.

About your role

We are looking for a Hardware Integration Engineer to analyze and modify our vehicle platform to ensure it accommodates the various components we mount on the truck to develop Ike’s automated trucking technology.

About your work

  • Integrate (software and physically) various sensors, actuators, and controllers onto vehicle platforms
  • Conceptualize/design/specify prototype harnesses and components for vehicle tests and builds
  • Aid troubleshooting efforts of various subsystems if problems arise on the vehicles
  • Contribute to design efforts as needed for electromechanical subsystems
  • Support vehicle builds

About you

  • Experience using typical vehicle interface toolchains (Vector, PEAK, Linux tools, etc.) to integrate sensors, controllers, and/or actuators on vehicles
  • Experience troubleshooting/defining communications with CAN, J1939, and/or other automotive protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in build-to-think environments - your curiosity might lead you to hack apart a vehicle harness and install a gateway or controller to characterize a target system
  • Driven to learn and adapt skills to fast-paced automated technology industry

Nice to haves

  • Experience in vehicle prototyping or mule designing/building. You know how to make non-production vehicles work in the real world.
  • Experience interfacing with external suppliers for bespoke components and/or wiring harnesses
