Niantic's Engineering Team seeks a Hardware Lead to define, design, and develop Niantic hardware. Niantic Engineering leads the advancement of augmented reality (AR) and other immersive technologies while creating engaging apps for a user base in the billions.

Responsibilities

  • Be a highly technical leader researching, defining, designing, testing, and delivering AR consumer hardware products.
  • Execute on AR hardware reference designs alongside external partners.
  • Manage external suppliers and partners including CM, JDM, ODM, and/or OEMs on hardware designs and prototypes.
  • Hold your own in technical discussions, be a domain specialist, and have strategic influence

Qualifications

  • You have an MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • You have 10+ years of relevant work experience in hardware engineering.
  • Experience developing consumer hardware into mass-market consumer products.

Plus If…

  • Experience with optics, micro-displays, industrial design, and/or electronics.
  • Experience working with AR products.
