We are a San Francisco based team building self-driving semi trucks. We have raised $117MM in total and are backed by Tiger Global Management ($70MM Series C) and Sequoia Capital ($30MM Series B). We move freight daily between LA and Phoenix using our purpose built transfer hubs. This is an incredibly exciting time for autonomous driving and our team is looking to grow.

As a harness and interconnect engineer, you will work with system and mechanical engineers to design, validate and deliver wiring harness and interconnect solutions for the sensors, embedded compute and vehicle interface systems of our self driving trucks. You will be involved in building quick prototypes, working with third party harness suppliers for delivering production quality solutions and installing on the trucks.

Some Projects:

  • Support the electrical and compute system development of Embark’s self driving trucks
  • Keep up to date on vehicle interconnect trends and vendor capabilities
  • Own the design and validation of automotive cable assemblies from the component selection through vehicle integration
  • Establish QA methodologies and processes for cable assemblies built in house and per contract
  • Design with a focus on scalability, manufacturability, and functional safety
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure functional requirements and hardware designs meet the needs of all the teams within the organization

Your Experience Might Include:

  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical or similiar Engineering degree or practical work experience
  • 3+ year of design cycle experience for wiring harness and vehicle electrical interconnect
  • Demonstrated experience with quick prototypes and contract production
  • Previous experience in harness ECAD. Familiarity with Zuken E3 Cable is a bonus
  • Experience with hardware reliability and testing
  • Direct automotive experience and ISO26262 familiarity is a plus
  • Knowledge of Linux, scripts, and software version control are a plus
