About Role:

The Head of Test and Release Engineering will help Ethos to build a world class test and release infrastructure, processes and teams to ship quality products fast. In this role you will provide directions to ensure the provision of end-to-end quality assurance across all domains, while managing the development and approval of comprehensive project plans and testing initiatives. You will champion and deeply care about quality, performance, speed, accessibility, and developer productivity.

Responsibilities:

• Build a world class test engineering team.
• Own the release process while working with our infrastructure team to improve CI/CD.
• Provide leadership and technical expertise within Test Automation and Quality Assurance.
• Constantly improve test engineering practices and processes to enable various teams to ship higher quality code fast.

Requirements:

• Excellent engineering leader with past experience of building and running extremely successful teams.
• Deep understanding of modern test automation frameworks and tools. Strategic understanding of different types of tests and their execution.
• Be a strong leader with experience in implementing and shaping the company’s QA processes and strategies.
• Knowledge of Javascript as our app is written in nodejs and we would like our tests to be as close to our dev as possible.
• Have strong technical skills, both functional and non-functional, manual and automation, ideally in a continuous delivery environment.
• Strong communication skills with all the key stakeholders to ensure QA vision is understood and implemented correctly.
• Be an advocate of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices.
• You should be in Bay Area or Austin or open to relocation to one of these locations.
