We are seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative junior-level Process Engineer to join our Factory Systems team. You will be responsible for monitoring, improving, and updating our current manufacturing processes while assisting in validations, training, equipment repairs, audits, and much more!

You Will:

  • Monitor process and quality performance, address spikes, and defects trends, perform root-cause analysis and collaborate with other departments to implement corrective actions aimed at reducing waste.
  • Generate programs for SMT assembly equipment such as solder paste printing, solder paste inspection, pick & place, reflow oven and selective wave.
  • Provide training to operators and technicians on how to properly operate and maintain manufacturing equipment; develop processes and procedures to standardize their work.
  • Provide line support by applying process and equipment knowledge and by assisting technicians and operators with hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Review assembly requirements and create detailed product-specific assembly instructions and deliver required reports, such as FAIR or AS9102.
  • Execute time studies and analyze bottlenecks and constraints to achieve throughput and utilization goals.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and product defects to achieve set goals quality goals.
  • Responsible for responding to and appropriately handling production line maintenance, machine calibrations, and mechanical emergencies.
  • Support enablement of new process capabilities or equipment through research and analysis, and participate in installation and qualification activities, documenting process and procedures for operators and technicians.
  • Evaluate and coordinate the purchase of specialized tooling, materials or components to ensure specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards are met.
  • Assist and report on work assignments, equipment status, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Time is spent on the manufacturing floor with some administrative and general office duties.
  • Typically works full time during regular scheduled hours but will need to be reasonably available after hours and on-call when necessary.

You Have: 

  • 1-2 years of experience working with product development or manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Proven track record in handling engineering processes
  • Established analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • FMEA Creation
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485
  • Lean or Six Sigma training
  • DFM knowledge
  • IPC certifications
  • Define or generate Test vehicle or DOE
