Verana Health is seeking a software engineering manager with great communication skills, experience in software design and architecture, business understanding, and who is focused on delivering results. In this role, you will build and lead your engineering team and help team members grow both technically and professionally. You will work closely with data engineering teams and the product team to lead the planning, execution and success of complex technical projects. Ability to lead in a dynamic environment is critical.
Responsibilities:
- A minimum of a BS degree in computer science, software engineering, or related scientific discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams of 5+ members building software tools and data pipelines.
- Experience mentoring and managing data engineers and enforcing best practices.
- Great written and verbal communication are critical engineering and business team collaboration.
- A programming background with deep C# and .NET understanding.
- Understanding of Windows Server and MS SQL Server.
- Strong hands-on experience working with databases, data models, and RDBMS.
Bonus:
- Experience in data models of one/two of the major EHRs - Epic, Cerner, Centricity, Athena, eClinicalWorks, Compulink, IntelleChartPRO (MDIntelleSys), NextGen, Centricity, EyeMD, Allscripts, CareCloud, iMedicWare, Integrity etc.
- Understanding of the clinical & health records workflow, including knowledge of expected high-level data elements and categories
- Understanding of standard medical terminologies and coding systems (e.g., ICD-10-CM, CPT, SNOMED, HCPCS).
- Experience with health interoperability standard information models (e.g., C-CDA, HL7, FHIR CDM)
- Hands-on experience working in AWS cloud computing environment.
