Mapping and Localization Engineer
Ike’s mission is to make trucks safer, truckers more valuable, and trucking more efficient. We are bringing together the world’s leading experts in transportation and robotics to transform the way the world moves and build a real commercial product at scale.
About Your Role
You will be a key contributor on a small, collaborative team focused on one of the most exciting robotics applications today. In this impactful role, you will develop core mapping, localization, and calibration algorithms and tools for self-driving trucks. You will also collaborate closely with engineers across perception and tracking, prediction and planning, infrastructure, and simulation to achieve desired results.
About Your Work
- Research, develop and implement algorithms to solve problems in the areas of large-scale mapping, real-time localization problems, and accurate calibration
- Design and develop well-tested C++ software and deploy on systems scaling from individual workstations up to distributed cloud-based infrastructure
- Develop data structures to support efficient map-related queries
About You
- Experience with state estimation, SLAM, nonlinear optimization, probabilistic filtering, and 3D/visual geometry
- Experience designing, implementing and extending novel algorithms
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Experience with multiple sensors (e.g. GPS, IMU, LIDAR, camera, odometry, radar)
Nice to haves
- Experience working with real-time systems, large-scale scalable software architectures, and large data sets
