Are you energized by creative solutions and collaborative teams? ThirdLove is looking for a detail-oriented materials guru who is passionate about quality & excited about innovation. You’ll partner with our Design & Production teams and work closely with suppliers to source & develop the highest quality materials and bring concepts to life. 

THE JOB:

  • Partner with Design in the sourcing and development of raw materials and provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams
  • Communicate with fabric and trim suppliers to source & develop materials according to Design direction with quality, price, and lead-time considerations top of mind
  • Track seasonal development, communicate status to Manager, Design, and Production teams, ensuring materials are adopted according to the seasonal T&A Calendar
  • Anticipate problems, offer solutions, and address issues with materials in order to meet the company’s aesthetic goals and financial targets
  • With direction from the Raw Materials Manager, manage development and bulk material testing reports
  • Escalate development concerns and risks with manager and cross-functional teams as needed
  • Partner closely with Design and Production in the lab dip and bulk color process
  • Continuously research materials newness, market trends and innovation
  • Identify opportunities to improve process & create efficiencies
  • Organize and maintain materials library

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-6 years of professional experience in material development or textiles
  • 4 year college degree
  • Understanding of product development & manufacturing process from concept through production
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to cultivate supplier relationships
  • Proven ability to work closely with designers and suppliers
  • Understanding of material testing protocols
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of people
  • Flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects on different timelines
  • Passionate, spirited, detail oriented and highly organized
  • Color training and/or analysis experience a plus
