Partner Engineer
Clever is the fastest-growing product in K-12 education, trusted by over 450+ learning software companies and more than 55% of America's schools.
Our partners want to build applications that make millions of K-12 teachers and students happy. Your task is simple: ensuring that working with Clever makes it easier for them to get that done.
You’ll be part of a dynamic and growing team tasked with driving the technical excellence and scale of partner integrations. In this role, you’ll build your technical and interpersonal skills in a hybrid experience that spans sales-engineering, integration design, solutions consulting, and technical content creation. You’ll be working closely with partners that range from education-industry titans to small startups, so you’ll rely heavily on your ability to craft solutions for a large range of technical challenges. Empathy and patience are in your blood, and you shine at listening to clients’ technical needs and working with and advising them to make nitty-gritty technical integrations seamless. You’re the architect and evangelist of Clever’s partner experience: developers leave meetings with you energized and excited to build products that will delight millions of students and teachers. Senior candidates are encouraged to apply.
You will:
- Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to developers from a leading Math application through consultative integration design sessions as a trusted advisor.
- Whiteboard Clever’s architecture with an exciting potential customer and lead a discussion on how to align their business requirements with Clever’s technical capabilities.
- Champion the voice of the customer in a product meeting to help prioritize bugs and feature requests.
- Partner with Clever customer service representatives on an escalated ticket from a partner who’s experiencing an issue with their integration.
- Develop technical and business understanding of a wide range of integration use cases, ranging from curriculum to assessment apps, summarizing key learnings and generating best practices for the community.
- Meet with a member of our engineering team to learn more about an upcoming release and update them on a particularly complex partner integration.
You should have:
- Relevant experience as an external-facing technologist at the intersection of product, engineering, and business (e.g. sales engineer, partner engineer, solutions engineer, solutions consultant, developer advocate, success engineer, technical consultant)
- Excellent technical communication. You can explain complex concepts clearly and succinctly in your writing and speech and excel at influencing behavior and outcomes.
- Some real-world programming experience. You don’t have to be an engineer yourself, but you’ll be guiding developers to build rock-solid Clever integrations and think through architectural design decisions. Experience with APIs is a plus.
- Deep understanding and empathy for developers and customers, with a genuine passion for enabling and advocating for developer success.
- A strong belief in Clever's mission: making it easy to bring great software to the classroom.
