The Manager of Quality Assurance plays an important role in this work. She/he has to have a strong knowledge base of what is required to make personal care and/or home cleaning products. They will be responsible for ensuring Grove’s own brand ingredients, packaging and finished goods meet our specifications. This person, reporting to the Vice President of Own Brands will work hand-in-hand with the rest of the Own Brands team (Innovation, R&D, Inventory, Creative) to ensure we launch the right product at the right time to our rapidly growing customer base.  

YOUR IMPACT

  • Collaborate with the innovation, packaging and R&D teams to create quality standards for Grove products
  • Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards and propose improvements to the production process
  • Develop methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
  • Onboard new manufacturers and ingredient suppliers through an audit of their facilities and evaluation of their capabilities
  • Establish a product approval process as part of the development lifecycle; key evaluation attributes for a product (packaging, quality, etc.), requirements around retained samples, vendor-managed quality needs
  • Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
  • Spend time on-site at our contract manufacturers as we go into production on a new products, ensuring products meet all of the standards established
  • Troubleshoot when problems arise; everything from the delay of a component to manufacturing inconsistencies to a product not meeting the proper technical standards (i.e. pH, viscosity, fragrance level)
  • Manage production schedules with manufacturers to ensure OTIF (on-time, in-full) shipping of our launches 

ABOUT YOU

  • 7+ years in the CPG space, preferably with a focus in personal care and/or home cleaning 
  • Great communication skills to convey information to a broad group of stakeholders through both written reports and direct conversation 
  • You have spent a lot of time in factories and you have a knack for how products are made, how to solve problems and how to build relationships with suppliers, even in difficult scenarios 
  • You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and diving into all aspects of your work
  • A strong understanding of quality systems, structured problem solving and a desire for continuous improvement across your supplier base 
  • You want to work at a values-driven organization. We are a team of people that are helping reduce the environmental impact that CPGs have on people and planet and we are looking for someone who shares those ideals
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting standards
