Come help us build the world's most trusted on-demand, logistics engine for delivery! We're building a team of great minds to help us secure and maintain a 24x7, no downtime, global infrastructure system that powers DoorDash’s multi-sided marketplace of consumers, merchants, and drivers.

The Security Engineering team is looking for a seasoned leader to manage our incident response, monitoring and detection, business continuity, and vulnerability management programs. You will be a part of our inclusive, collaborative team responsible for building a safe and reliable delivery network. On the Security team we need to protect all of our customers, as well as the logistics engine itself. It’s no simple task, but it wouldn’t be interesting if it was!

What You’ll Do

  • Work directly with the CISO and other senior leaders across the business to set strategy for security monitoring, response, vulnerability management, penetration testing, IT business continuity and disaster recovery, patching, and IT’s ITIL processes.
  • Develop a team to actively detect threats and act as the first responder to all security events across application, infrastructure and corporate security domains.
  • Plan and execute regular incident response and postmortem exercises, with a focus on creating measurable benchmarks to show progress (or deficiencies requiring additional attention).
  • Partner with engineering teams to build out incident logging infrastructure and ensure all systems are well-prepared for response activities.
  • Communicate with executives and domain managers to prioritize and execute remediation plans.
  • Grow the team and shape the monitoring & response program at DoorDash for years to come - along with building tools and processes from the ground up, you’ll be recruiting new team members to make us 1% better every day.
  • Develop metrics and scorecards to measure risk to the organization, as well as effectiveness and efficiency of SOC associates.
  • Manage career development for a team of associates, including training and mentoring, conducting performance reviews and exhibiting behaviors to be modeled by team members.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of security engineering experience and 3+ years of experience in both management and a cloud-production environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities with hands-on experience leading root cause analysis.
  • Experience in detection and response across both corporate and engineering technology.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving improvements to a company’s security posture.
  • Experience managing security information and event management (SIEM) systems, threat intelligence platforms, security automation and orchestration solutions, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), file integrity monitoring (FIM), data loss prevention (DLP) and other network and system monitoring tools.
  • Experience in investigations using formal chain-of-custody methods, forensic tools and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills - you can explain how to identify meaningful vulnerabilities and how we’re prioritizing response plans.
