We are seeking a Security Analyst who will share responsibility for foundational services and tools to meet compliance requirements, while ensuring data security for partner, patient and provider data, as well as data accessibility controls infrastructure. This role will report to the Senior Manager Security & IT, on a growing team. There is a tremendous opportunity to learn and grow, while being an integral part of Verana’s mission. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

The Security Analyst will perform work in a cloud environment using various tools and platforms for security operations.

Duties and responsibilities will include: 

  • Analyzing security alerts of information systems, and monitoring for compliance.
  • Administers authentication and access controls, including provisioning, changes, and deprovisioning of user and system accounts, security/access roles, and access permissions to information assets.
  • Using software, such as ticketing, logging, endpoint, and authentication systems for investigations.
  • Assisting with installation or processing of new security products and procedures.
  • Identify and develop solutions to investigate data security vulnerabilities.
  • Monitoring networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions.
  • Working experience with software that helps with notification of intrusions.
  • Monitoring for irregular system behavior.
  • Participating in incident response activities and escalations.
  • Participating in investigations into how breaches happen.
  • Reporting findings to management.
  • Support the organization’s information security strategy.
  • Educating staff members on information security through training and awareness.
  • Collaborate with the IT and DevOps teams to enhance data security, continually reevaluating based on data security best practices  

 Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or other related field,
    coupled with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience is required.  Equivalent years of experience and education will be considered. 
  • Information security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SANS GIAC GSEC, CEH, OSCP, or CISA.
  • Experience with the following tools and platforms; AWS, Sumo Logic, Tenable, Prisma Cloud, Rapid7, Splunk, Zscaler, CrowdStrike, and Darktrace. 
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
  • Experience in maintaining robust security systems.
  • Exhibits a solid background in analyzing trends, news and changes in threat and compliance environment with respect to organizational risk.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced, start-up environment 
  • Demonstrable experience coordinating multiple issues, in high‐pressure situations.
  • Experience with AWS’s cloud solution environment.
  • Responsible for security operations and application security. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and skills

Bonus

  • Healthcare/life sciences industry experience a huge plus, but not necessary
  • A passion for data/security operations, to accelerate patient care and medical research
