The Verana Health DevOps team is seeking a highly skilled Sr. DevOps Engineer who will play an integral role to help us achieve our mission. The Sr. DevOps Engineer will be a technical leader on the DevOps team, helping convert existing AWS infrastructure into IAC, providing technical leadership and guidance to other teams, working to enable development and data engineering teams to produce at greater efficiency and much more.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the provisioning and management of new AWS infrastructure using IAC tools such as Terraform, Ansible and the Serverless Framework
• Lead the conversion of existing AWS infrastructure to IAC
• Develop, maintain and improve CI/CD automation
• Partner with engineering teams to provide guidance on development best practices
• Seek to optimize cloud costs through more efficient patterns and architecture
• Aid the release manager by ensuring smooth running and effective CI/CD tooling and processes
• Stay up to date on DevOps industry best practices and fine tune to build a world class DevOps ecosystem
• Meticulously document architectures, processes and anything which cannot be codified

Basic Requirements

• Deep knowledge of/experience with a wide array of AWS services such as: Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, S3, EC2, EMR, Fargate/ECS/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift
• Extensive experience working on CI/CD pipelines
• Deep experience with IAC tools such as Terraform and Ansible (or Chef)
• Docker development experience
• Python
• Strong Git knowledge
• Experience working with Jira/Confluence
• Strong understanding of microservices architectural patterns (using AWS)
• Understanding of good development design patterns such as AWS Well Architected and 12 Factor principles
• AWS Certifications at professional level greatly desired

• Experience developing/deploying serverless apps with the Serverless Framework
• Step functions
• Rundeck experience
• Experience working in a big data environment
• Experience working in a healthcare industry context (HIPAA etc…)
